Practice makes perfect!
Leaning an instrument requires practice, and sometimes finding motivation to practice can be really difficult. Dr Anita Collins, an expert music educator, has a few handy tricks to encourage practice. Click the button below to read a short article on practice encouragement:
Finding Motivation
A crucial part to student learning is encouragement and support from parents. Learning an instrument can be hard, and finding the motivation to practise can be difficult. With with encouragement, support, and praise, students will engage more willingly in practise, and will learn to take initiative in their learning.
As part of my teaching, I create goal sheets so that students can learn, understand, and succeed in their aims.
I also use a system to encourage students. When a student practices at home, or experiences a challenging piano lesson, I reward them with a sticker at the end of a lesson. When the student receives 5 stickers, the will get to choose a small prize from my prize box.
